Danain runs a cooperation with Bank Sahabat Sampoerna in the midst of Covid-19 Pandemic
In the midst of Covid-19 pandemic, Danain as a platform peer to peer lending which has been registered and overseen in OJK, has achieved a progressive step by receiving a trust from Bank Sahabat Sampoerna.
Co-founder & CEO PT Mulia Inovasi Digital (Danain) Budiardjo Rustanto stated a trust from a well-known financial institution under the outbreak of Covid-19 is regarded as spectacular.
“This will encourage us to keep growing and serving to borrowers whose mostly from small enterprise” said by Budiardjo Rustanto in the written statement, Tuesday (06/16/2020)
The process of signature between Danain and Bank Sahabat Sampoerna was conducted on Monday (8/6/2020) in Sampoerna Strategic Square, South Jakarta.
In regards to the commitment, Budiardjo did not want to disclose the received amount. “As we believe, it is significant for Danain growth in this year and this is the first step. We very hope with our cooperation, Bank Sahabat Sampoerna’s support to Danain will grow bigger in the future”.
Budiardjo said that every Danain funding is always gold-backed, which is stored securely in a Danain partner private pawnshop. With the trend of gold prices continuing to rise, it's no wonder that the funds channeled have very healthy collateral coverage levels, so there is very little likelihood for borrowers not to repay their loans.
So far, TKB 90, which is an indicator of the success rate of funding return in Danain, is still at 100%. It means, until now, there is no problematic funding. Danain has disbursed loans of more than Rp600 billion since it began operations in 2018.
In 2020, even in the midst of a pandemic, Danain is optimistic that he can more than double the funding distribution compared to 2019. "With support from Bank Sahabat Sampoerna, we are more optimistic about achieving significant growth compared to last year," said Budi.
Budi explained, the current demand for loans on the Danain platform showed a sharp upward trend, especially after there was an effort to stimulate the economy in areas with minimal distribution of Covid-19. Micro entrepreneurs are in need of funds to restart their business.
"Bank Sahabat Sampoerna's support to Danain comes at the right time, which is the people who are in need of funds. With this collaboration, Danain as a peer to peer lending platform can help serve people who need loan funds to reopen their businesses, "Budiardjo said.
